NFL Season 2025: Surprises, Disappointments & Unexpected Storylines

it's only Week 5, and the NFL season is already shaping up to be a wild ride. The Philadelphia Eagles and Buffalo Bills are the last two undefeated teams standing, because that's exactly what we pay millions of dollars in advertising to see. Who needs parity in the league, anyway?

The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly

Let's start with the Eagles. They're dominating like they're trying to make a Super Bowl repeat a foregone conclusion. Meanwhile, the Bills are just cruising along, trying to finally win a Super Bowl after decades of, well, being the Bills.

Some other teams are having a decent season, though. The San Francisco 49ers, Jacksonville Jaguars, and Los Angeles Chargers are all looking sharp. But don't get too excited; we've seen teams start strong and flame out before.

Rookie Sensations

The NFL's next generation is here, folks! Rookies like Abdul Carter, Emeka Egbuka, and Tyler Warren are making waves and taking the league by storm. Carter's already showing edge-rushing skills that'll give quarterbacks fits, while Egbuka's flashy plays are making him Tampa Bay's WR1.

Contenders and Pretenders

Who's looking like a legitimate Super Bowl contender? Well, besides the Eagles and Bills, of course. The 49ers seem like a force to be reckoned with, but can they keep it up? And what's going on with the Kansas City Chiefs? They're 2-2, and Patrick Mahomes is... well, being Patrick Mahomes.
